TAHLEQUAH — Cherokee County sheriff’s deputies arrested a teenager Thursday for public intoxication.

Jeremy Laconsello, 19, of Park Hill, left a family residence at South Breeze Trailer Park, and relatives told deputies they were concerned about him because of the temperatures outside. Deputies said they later spotted Laconsello staggering across Muskogee Avenue. He smelled of alcohol, and allegedly admitted to having a couple of beers and some shots of liquor.

In other matters, deputies filed a report after talking to Glenda Johnson earlier this month. Johnson said she allowed a man to take a vehicle to a scrap yard, but he never returned and provided her with the money he was given for the car.

Keith Sumpter told deputies recently he was scammed into investing money into a man’s company, and has never seen a return.

Drushane Carey reported being assaulted Wednesday.

Deputies took a report from a 17-year-old student this week who said he was practicing for cross country and was bitten by a pit bulldog.
