Man arrested after hit-and-run crash

TAHLEQUAH — A Tahlequah man was arrested by police Feb. 22 following a hit-and-run incident near Bean Street and Southwest Avenue. Roberto Cruz, 28, was taken into custody on complaints of driving under the influence, no driver’s license, and no insurance.

Cairi S. Ross, 33, of Stilwell, was arrested Feb. 22 for drug possession and giving false information to a police officer after a traffic stop was made for improper display of tag. Illicit drugs were discovered in Ross’ purse once she was taken into custody, according to the report.

Aaron T. Sweeney, 20, of Tahlequah, was arrested Feb. 22 for public intoxication drugs, possession of drug paraphernalia, and felony warrants through Cherokee County. Sweeney had been reported to be smoking K2 in Felts City Park. Sweeney was reportedly unstable on his feet, and had slurred speech, glassy eyes and smelled of smoke. Sweeney had in his possession two K2 bags labeled Bizarro – one strawberry and one lime – and a metal smoking pipe.

Eugene R. Brown, 27, of Tahlequah, was arrested Feb. 21 for driving under the influence.

Robert E. Wright, 42, of Tahlequah, was arrested Feb. 24 on complaints of vandalism to a vehicle tire in the Walmart parking lot.

Andrea Swimmer, 21, of Tahlequah, was arrested Feb. 22 for shoplifting at Walmart .

Crystal Reneau filed a fraud report Feb. 19 to notify law officials that her Armstrong band card was fraudulently used at the Outlet Store and Walmart.

Grace Living Center administration filed a theft report Feb. 22 to indicate possible theft of medication and cigarettes from the Tahlequah nursing home.

Kayla Harris on Feb. 22 reported her purse had been taken from her vehicle, which was parked behind Effx. The passenger side window was broken.

Jessica McKissic spoke to police Feb. 21, saying she has been receiving harassing phone calls while at work at Walmart.

Debra Hough told police Feb. 22 she had been receiving threatening phone calls.

Amber Lyman on Feb. 20 reported allegations that a known suspect assaulted the mother of his child by hitting her in the face with a closed fist at the Twin Oaks Apartment complex.

Jerry Dick filed a vandalism report Feb. 23, saying a known suspect slapped his iphone 4 out of his hand during an argument in the parking lot of Rouse Dentistry.

Kendra Tinnin told police Feb. 21 that a known suspect allegedly violated a protective order by texting Tinnin.

Jeremiah Dover filed a vandalism report Feb. 23, saying the back window of his vehicle had been broken out while parked at his Trimble Apartment residence.

Kristina Escalona on Feb. 19 said an unknown female suspect entered the Stage employee’s break room and stole property from Escalona.

Hailey Blakley spoke to police on Feb. 24 to report that a known male suspect beat her up.

Danielle Jones filed a theft report on Feb. 21 to report lost or stolen two dogs. One is described as white in color, and the other is brindle in color.
