Anadarko swamps Poteau for Class 4A title

STILLWATER— Mykel Shaw recovered a fumble, returned an interception for a touchdown and also scored on a passing play as Anadarko defeated Poteau 40-0 Saturday for the Oklahoma Class 4A high school football title.

Shaw recovered a Poteau fumble at the Anadarko 1, turning back an early threat and triggering a 99-yard drive for a touchdown.

And on the first play after Anadarko made it 7-0, Shaw returned an interception 31 yards for another score.

A few plays later, Traymayne Wauahdooah recovered a fumble in the end zone as Anadarko scored three touchdowns in a span of 1:21 to control in the first quarter.

Shaw added another score when he took a screen pass 32 yards early in the second quarter.

Anadarko won the Class 3A title in 2011.

Guthrie completes perfect season with 5A title

STILLWATER — Kai Callins carried the ball 23 times for 230 yards Saturday as Guthrie claimed the Oklahoma Class 5A high school football title with a 51-21 victory over McAlester.

Reed Roberts completed seven of nine passes as Guthrie (14-0) wrapped up a perfect season. McAlester finished 12-2 after committing four turnovers. Dalton Wood threw for 180 yards but also had two interceptions.

Callins had four rushing touchdowns, including an 86-yarder that made the score 44-21 in the fourth quarter.

Guthrie finished the game with 475 total yards, 314 on the ground. McAlester had 120 yards rushing, giving it 300 total yards for the game.

Laverne beats Pond Creek-Hunter for Class B title

WEATHERFORD — Trevor Harris ran for touchdowns covering 77, 70, 51 and 4 yards Saturday as Laverne completed a perfect season with a 42-12 victory over Pond Creek-Hunter in the Oklahoma Class B football championship game.

Harris had 297 yards rushing on 16 carries as Laverne wrapped up a 14-0 season with a 450-yard rushing effort. Pond Creek-Hunter finished 12-2.

Laverne led 14-6 at halftime but pushed the lead to 22 entering the final period. After Pond Creek-Hunter's Josh Irvin hit Jevan Overton for a 20-yard score to make it 28-12, Laverne tacked on touchdown runs of 4 yards by Tucker Rolf and 50 yards by Dalton Birch.

Irvin was 15-of-26 passing for 228 yards.

Last season, Laverne beat Pond Creek-Hunter 50-19 in the title game.
