More area wrestling on tap

All four area wrestling teams will be in action today.

Class 5A No. 13 Tahlequah will be on the road to wrestle non-district competition against Claremore. The Tigers are coming off a second-place finish at the Chuck West Invitational in Bristow last weekend. Claremore was Perry last weekend and came in 22nd.

In Salina, both Keys and Sequoyah will wrestling in District 3A-7 duals. Both will wrestle Jay and Salina starting at 2 p.m.

Keys is coming off a 54-30 loss at Hulbert on Tuesday night.

Sequoyah's last action was a second-place showing at the Joe Cole Classic in Cleveland over the weekend. Leading the way for Sequoyah was Will Tiger, who finished first in the 126-pound weight division. Bradley Davis (106), Drayk Meigs (170) both posted second-place finishes. The Indians also had three wrestlers come in third place: Damon Davidson (132), Andrew Rowe (195) and Nolan Philpott (285).

As for Hulbert, the Riders will have another home dual tonight against Muskogee's junior varsity team.
