Week 7 area recaps

- Central 25, Tahlequah 23: D’Angelo Brewer rushed for 124 yards and two touchdowns to engineer a come-from-behind victory for the Braves. Trailing 15-13, Central went ahead on DJ Daniels’ 9-yard touchdown with 4:45 left, and the Braves’ Kejuan Johnson followed with a 30-yard touchdown run 47 seconds later to all but put the game away. For Tahlequah, quarterback David Dick logged a 126-yard, two-touchdown performance on offense.

- Sequoyah 28, Sperry 7: A sluggish offensive night for the Indians was saved by special teams and defense in a nondistrict game against the Pirates. Sequoyah limited Sperry to 141 yards of total offense, while taking control of the game in the second quarter. The Indians scored first on Cody Hooper’s 17-yard run with 11:33 left until halftime, and Nick Kingfisher followed with an 81-yard touchdown run to put the Indians up 14-0. Caisen Green would collect two touchdown grabs for the Indians in the second half.

- Lincoln Christian 49, Keys 16: The Cougars were within 21-16 before halftime, but they failed to convert near Lincoln’s Christian’s end zone, giving the ball back to the Bulldogs. Lincoln Christian went 90 yards in 40 seconds to take a 28-16 lead at halftime. Lincoln Christian running back Justin Flewellen scored three touchdowns, while Keys tailback Dakota Matlock scored both of the Cougars’ touchdowns in the game.

- Salina 41, Hulbert 13: Salina racked up 279 rushing yards, including two runs of 46-plus yards for touchdowns. Salina quarterback Cale Backward had 74 yards and a 46-yard and a touchdown on four carries, including one for a 46-yard score. Both of Hulbert’s scores came in the fourth quarter.
