Tahlequah tennis duo finishes 4th at state

Tahlequah’s No. 1 doubles team of Katie Schneider (left) and Sarah Schiefelbein (right) finished in fourth place overall at the Class 5A state tennis tournament over the weekend. As the No. 4 seed in the tournament, Schneider and Schiefelbein post straight-set victories over Shawnee and McAlester to reach the semifinals on Saturday. In the semifinals, Schneider and Schiefelbein lost to Cascia Hall’s Jacque Dukes and Hayden Siegfreid, 6-0, 6-0. Cascia Hall’s duo went on to win the state championship. In the third-place match, Schneider and Schiefelbein lost to Heritage Hall, 6-4, 6-3. In the photo with Schneider and Schiefelbein is Tahlequah coach April Quiett.
