Tahlequah looking to take down No. 5 Collinsville

From Staff reports

— Tahlequah and Collinsville are two basketball teams headed in opposite directions. The Tahlequah girls are now 4-7 with only one win in their last six games. Class 5A No. 5 Collinsville has posted eight victories in nine games.

Tonight in Collinsville, the two clubs will face off at 6.

Tahlequah's biggest obstacle will be shutting down Collinsville inside.

"Collinsville has tremendous size," Tahlequah coach Johnny Dyson said. "Something we lack."

Tahlequah will deploy Raegan Clark and Latreece Black who stand at 6 feet and 5-foot-9, respectively.

Their biggest challenge will be shutting down Kryston Wheeler, who routinely tallies double-doubles inside for the Lady Cardinals (8-3).

"We'll have to do a few things defensively to compensate for that and work to keep them off the board," Dyson said.

Tahlequah is coming off a 53-34 loss to Claremore on Tuesday.

"We've gotten plenty of good looks the last few games," Dyson said, "we just have to convert those opportunities and finish."
