Colby Brittain allowed just one hit in five innings as Tahlequah rolled to a 10-0 victory over East Central on Thursday. Brittain didn’t allow a walk and struck out 11 hitters in a game that was cut short via the run rule.
Tahlequah got ahead early with four runs in the first inning. The Tigers added two in the second and four in the fifth.
On offense, Ryan Sanders hit a home run for Tahlequah (12-8, 6-1), and Houston Glad added a single, a double and two runs batted in. Brittain chipped in with a double and a stolen base.
Up next for the Tigers is a game against Kickapoo (Mo.) at noon on Friday in Claremore. The Tigers will also play at East Central at 4:30.
Indians lose in tourney play
COMMERCE — Sequoyah’s baseball team suffered a 6-3 loss to Neosho (Mo.) on Thursday afternoon at the Mickey Mantle Classic. Zach Parish took the loss for the Indians (3-4).
Sequoyah will play again in the tournament on Friday at 3:30.
Hulbert softball loses
CHOUTEAU — Hulbert’s softball team lost a 12-10 decision to Chouteau on Thursday. Krista Bowlin drove in four runs for the Lady Riders in the defeat.
