Another Keys game scrapped

Local briefs

At some point, Keys will play basketball again this season. It just won’t happen tonight.

Keys’ basketball games at Vian tonight have been postponed due to Vian’s prolonged playoff run in Class 2A football. Leon Ashlock, Keys’ athletic director, said the games would be made up but not makeup date was available on Thursday night.

This the fourth time this year that Keys has had basketball games called off. It will play Wagoner on Saturday in games that were called off on Tuesday. Games against Miami have not been made up yet.

Hulbert teams back in action

After having the Greenleaf Invitational cut short last week, both Hulbert basketball teams will be back in action tonight. Hulbert will play at Kansas with the girls tipping off at 6:30 with the boys to follow at 8.

The Hulbert boys are 2-1 after a 57-47 loss to Oaks in the Greenleaf Invitational last week. The Hulbert girls are 3-0 with a 59-51 victory over Porum last week.

The Kansas boys are 1-1 and the Kansas girls are 3-0 and ranked sixth in Class 3A.

SHS returns to tourney

Both Sequoyah teams are coming off their first losses of the season. The Sequoyah boys lost to Fort Gibson, 75-71, in the opening round of the tournament, and the Sequoyah girls fell to Inola, 51-41.
