Tahlequah, Keys baseball postponed

Local and state briefs

Winter weather won’t go away, and that means Tahlequah and Keys had to call of baseball games on Tuesday.

Keys, after a 10-6 win over Stilwell on Saturday, was slated to play at Gore on Tuesday, but the game was postponed with no makeup date announced. Keys is now slated to go to Muldrow on Thursday.

Set to open the season at home against Inola on Tuesday, Tahlequah’s game was postponed. There was no makeup date available. Tahlequah will attempt to host Sallisaw on Thursday.

NSU softball games called off in Arkansas

After three wins over Bethany College and one victory over William Woods over the weekend, Northeastern State softball was slated to play at Arkansas Tech on Tuesday. However, the doubleheader was canceled.

The RiverHawks (10-6) will resume action Friday at home in a doubleheader against Lincoln.

Grambling St. at Oklahoma State baseball canceled

STILLWATER — The Grambling State at Oklahoma State baseball game has been canceled due to wintry weather.

OSU announced Tuesday that the game scheduled for Wednesday at Allie P. Reynolds Stadium has been called off because of snow and cold temperatures. It has not been rescheduled.

OSU is next in action Friday at 6:30 when the Cowboys open a three-game weekend series with San Diego in Stillwater.

Shock taking nominations

For the fifth consecutive year, the Tulsa Shock and American Fidelity Assurance Co. opened nominations for PE Teacher/Coach of the Game. The program is a unique opportunity for students and fellow educators to show their appreciation for the athletic role models in their lives.

At a Tulsa Shock home game, each honoree will receive a prize pack consisting of two VIP courtside tickets, 30 group tickets to invite students and family, complimentary parking, an American Fidelity Assurance Company gift pack and receive a special moment of on-court recognition with Tulsa Shock and American Fidelity Assurance Company representatives during the second quarter. Honorees will also be automatically nominated for the American Fidelity Assurance Company PE Teacher/Coach of the Year award presented at the last home game of the 2014 season.
