League leader

Coweta: The Tigers have been untouchable in league play to this point. Bishop Kelley played to within three points of Coweta back in December, but since then the only scare Coweta has received was against Tahlequah on Jan. 29 in a 10-point game.

Up and coming

Pryor: A league title is no longer a possibility for the Tigers, but they’ve really turned it on since the calendar flipped to February. Granted it’s only been two games, but Pryor’s 25-point win over Collinsville and 20-point victory over Skiatook have both been impressive, with at least 63 points scored in each game.

On the skids

Collinsville: No one has been more downtrodden than Claremore in the conference. However, since the 2013 calendar year started, Collinsville hasn’t been too far off Claremore’s pace. The Cardinals have only posted two wins in 11 games during the 2013 portion of the schedule.

Notes

Tiger clash called off: A matchup of Class 5A No. 6 Coweta and 4A No. 6 Fort Gibson was canceled on Monday because of the student suicide at Coweta Public Schools on Monday. With Fort Gibson beginning its playoff slate a week from today, the game will likely not be made up.

Riding Wright: Tahlequah point guard has found his scoring stroke over the Tigers’ four games, and the evidence has been in the win-loss column. With Wright leading Tahlequah in scoring against Northwest Classen, Coweta, Bishop Kelley and Collinsville, the Tigers have rattled off three wins and one loss in the last two weeks. Wright has averaged 19.5 points over the last four games.

Trending downward: It’s been a rough go of it this season for Claremore. Making matters worse is the Zebras’ average scoring margin per game: minus-22.9. Sitting at 0-19, the Zebras will have four games — Collinsville, Pryor, Tahlequah and first-round playoff opponent — to avoid going winless this season.
