State champs

Not a single top-ranked team went home with a state championship on Wednesday.

In 6A, No. 1 Westmoore — last season's 6A champion — was ousted by No. 5 Union in the semifinals, and the Redskins went on to run-rule Broken Arrow 16-6 in the finals.

5A No. 5 Cache dispatched of No. 1 Purcell, 6-5, in the semifinals, and Cache went on to beat Henryetta, 13-1, in the 5A finals. The championship is the third in school history for Cache.

In a high-scoring affair, 4A No. 3 Tushka beat No. 1 Dale, 12-10. Dale was the 4A champion in 2012. The title for Tushka is the school's first since the girls basketball team won in 1964.
