Local teams alter spring slates

From Staff reports

— A slew of local teams changed their schedules this week after heavy rainfall on Saturday night.

Tahlequah’s slowpitch softball team postponed its games at home Monday against Jenks. The Lady Tigers will now open their season on Tuesday at Panama in a triangular against Panama and Pocola. Tahlequah’s home opener will be Thursday against Sequoyah.

The Tahlequah baseball team had its game at Skiatook on Monday pushed back a day. The Tigers and Bulldogs will now play a doubleheader in Skiatook on Tuesday.

Sequoyah’s baseball team, with the combination of a wet field and players finally joining the team after the basketball team made the state tournament last week, will begin its season on Friday when it hosts Keys at 4 p.m.

Sequoyah’s softball team will open its season Thursday at Tahlequah.

Keys’ baseball team postponed its game at Vian on Thursday and is still scheduled to play at Locust Grove on Thursday.

The Daily Press attempted to find out if Keys played softball on Monday, but no information was reported prior to deadline time.

Hulbert, also, has not provided the Daily Press with information on any of its spring sports.
