Series record: Tahlequah leads, 4-2.

Last week: Coweta 54, Tahlequah 0; Collinsville 23, Central 7.

Last meeting: In 2011, Central beat Tahlequah, 28-13. Tahlequah only had 162 yards of total offense against the Braves.

News to know: Tahlequah has lost its last seven road games. ... Central’s only “win” of the season came when East Central was forced to forfeit a handful of games earlier this season for using an ineligible player.

Players to watch

Tahlequah: Mason McMillan (RB), David Dick (QB).

— McMillan, who left last week’s game early against Coweta due to a hip injury, had only 24 yards rushing on eight carries. The senior tailback will play against Central, but his production could directly correlate to how Tahlequah fares on the road.

— Dick was only 2 of 10 for 32 yards against Coweta last week, and this week he’ll be without his favorite targer in Tyler Eisensmith, who is out with an ankle injury. See if Dick looks in Ben Lamb’s direction more often with Eisensmith out.

Central: DeAngelo Brewer (QB).

— The 5-foot-9, 155-pound quarterback spearheads Central’s offense on most nights. He doesn’t pass much or for a high percentage, but he does run the ball quite often, piling up 731 yards and nine touchdowns on 106 carries. He’s also alternated impressive performances on the ground this season, so he’s due for a break-out game this week after being limited to 30 yards on 17 carries last week against Collinsville.

Looking ahead: On Thursday, Tahlequah will continue on the road at Pryor, while Central will play the same night at Claremore.

Rankings: Sequoyah is No. 8 in Class 3A in the Associated Press' prep polll; Sperry is not ranked in 3A.

Series record: Sperry leads, 1-0.

Last week: Sequoyah 47, Westville 13; Berryhill 40, Sperry 7.

Last meeting: In 2009, Sperry beat Sequoyah, 28-14.

News to know: The only matchup between the two schools was in the playoffs in 2009. Sperry’s 14-point win spoiled Sequoyah’s perfect season. ... Sperry’s playoff run — seven appearances in the last eight years — is likely to come to an end this season, with the Pirates needing to go unbeaten the rest of the year to make postseason play.

Players to watch

Sequoyah: Karter Woodruff (RB).

— If Kyle Helsley misses another game for Sequoyah, look for Woodruff to step in to fill the void in the Indians’ running game. He rushed for 78 yards on four carries last week against Westville.

Sperry: Casey Holcomb (QB).

— The Pirates’ offense is centered around the 5-foot-8, 150-pound quarterback. He has passed for 569 yards and four touchdowns while completing 44.7 percent (42 of 94) of his passes. He also leads the Pirates in rushing with 421 yards and two scores on 86 carries.

Looking ahead: Sequoyah will host Jay on Thursday.

Series record: Lincoln Christian leads, 1-0.

Last week: Vian 53, Keys 0; Hilldale 48, Lincoln Christian 6.

Last meeting: In 2008, Lincoln Christian beat Keys, 63-6.

News to know: The schools squared off in the 2008 playoffs, when Keys was in Class 2A. ... This is Lincoln Christian’s first year in Class 3A, moving up a class because of the rules implemented via publie-private school resolution in all sports.
