Douglass romps past Stilwell for 5th state championship

Associated Press

— OKLAHOMA CITY — Trey Sanders scored 24 points to help Oklahoma City Douglass defeat Stilwell 78-50 Saturday in the Class 4A Oklahoma state title game.

Antonio Wilson and LSU football recruit Deondre Clark scored 12 points each for the Trojans (22-4), who won their fifth consecutive title and eighth overall.

Matt Lea scored 19 points and Chase Littlejohn added 12 for Stilwell (25-6). The Indians — appearing in their first championship game since 2000 — shot just 35 percent overall. Douglass shot 64 percent in the second half.

Douglass defeated Stilwell 77-72 on March 1 in the regional round of the 4A playoffs. Saturday, Douglass led 20-10 at the end of the first quarter. Stilwell hung tough, despite Lea picking up his second foul early in the second quarter and sitting for the rest of the half. Sanders had 15 points before intermission to help Douglass go up.
