Lady Tigers get 2nd in Claremore

Tahlequah’s volleyball team went 7-2 over the weekend and finished in second place at the Claremore tournament. The Lady Tigers’ only two losses occurred against Class 5A No. 6 Victory Christian, who beat Tahlequah in the finals 2-1 (25-23, 21-25, 15-9). The Lady Tigers posted wins over East Central, Rejoice Christian (twice), Claremore, Catoosa, Choctaw and Metro Christian while dropping only one set along the way. Tahlequah, ranked seventh in Class 5A, is now 28-7. The Lady Tigers will host Class 6A No. 3 Bishop Kelley on Tuesday at the TMAC. “A win would assure at least a share of the (Metro Lakes Conference) title,” Tahlequah coach Don Ogden said. “We are working hard to gain a home regional berth. It’ll be a big match.”
