Tahlequah's playoff field altered

Tahlequah's regional softball tournament field was altered by the Oklahoma Secondary School Activities Association on Wednesday.

Tahlequah, who finished in second place in District 5A-3, was slated to host Edison, Coweta and McAlester at its regional tournament. However, McAlester has been reassigned with Shawnee taking its place.

Shawnee was originally slated to host a regional, but that regional hosting responsibility will switch to Durant, who will welcome Grove, Collinsville and Bishop Kelley to southern Oklahoma.

Tahlequah's regional will begin Oct. 10 at noon with Tahlequah taking on Edison. Coweta and Shawnee will play at 2 p.m., and consolation and winners' bracket games will follow at 4 and 6. On Oct. 11, the tournament will begin at noon again.
