The NEO Redmen summer baseball team lost a tough 5-0 game to the Tulsa Lookouts on Tuesday night in Sooner Collegiate League play at O’Brien Park in Tulsa.
The Lookouts scored two runs in the first to take the early lead.
They later added two more runs in the third and one in the sixth for the five-run victory.
The Redmen managed just two hits off the Tulsa pitching staff in the game.
Jacob Heckerott had a triple in the second for the first hit of the game.
Chance Ross was the other NEO player to record a base hit in the game. He had a single in the sixth inning.
Blake Cate got the start and took the loss for the Redmen as he went two innings and had one strikeout.
Trey Kimble then pitched an inning of relief before giving way to Steven Hilgendorf who pitched the remaining three innings of the game. Hilgendorf also had a strikeout.
With the loss, the NEO Redmen drop to 5-6 in the Sooner Collegiate League and 10-13 overall this summer.
Their next game is on Wednesday when they play the Tulsa Braves in league action at O’Brien Park. Game time is set for 6:30 p.m.
After Wednesday night’s game, the Redmen do not play again until July 9.
