Published August 19, 2008 09:10 am - Kansas takes down Keys, 8-0 By CLINT HARPER Press special writer TAHLEQUAH DAILY PRESS — The Keys High School fast-pitch softball team went on the road to Kansas, Okla. on Monday where the Lady Cougars were shut out, 8-0 in a five-inning run rule.
“A lot of mental mistakes were made during the game and hopefully we can put that behind us because we have a long week ahead of us,” Keys assistant coach Amy Hamilton said. We play every day this week.” Keys’ Crystal Manus ended up with the loss on her pitching record after last night’s game while Kansas’ Walker threw a no-hitter against the Lady Cougars and took home the win with five strikeouts. Manus threw two strikeouts and seven hits before being relieved after two innings by Megan Alsenay, who threw three strikeouts only two hits in the next three innings. The Lady Cougars are scheduled to play at home today at 4:30 against Sallisaw Central.
