Published December 04, 2008 09:17 am - The Hulbert Lady Riders and the Shady Grove Lady Wildcats split the boys games as Hulbert won the seventh grade game 31-15 and lost the eighth grade game 19-18. Shady Grove wins three of four games from Hulbert in basketball By LYNN WOMACK Special Writer TAHLEQUAH DAILY PRESS — The Hulbert Lady Riders and the Shady Grove Lady Wildcats split the boys games as Hulbert won the seventh grade game 31-15 and lost the eighth grade game 19-18. The Lady Riders lost both games to the Lady Wildcats 15-7 in the seventh grade game 21-20 in the eighth grade game Tuesday.
The Riders were led by Ricco Wynn with 13 points which included three-three pointers in the first quarter. Brandon Thompson scored 12 points followed by Colby Brown with six points. Teri Cook had four points while Damon Garza and Jacob Kenyon scored two points each in the seventh grade game. Jacoda Williams was the leading scorer in the eighth grade game with nine points. Ty West had four followed by Micco Ortiz with three (one trey), and Craig Potts had two points. The only two Lady Riders that scored in the seventh grade game was Brooke Bailey with five points and Eliza Baldridge with two points. Sammie Wright was the leading scorer in the eight grade game with seven points. Timber Angel had six points followed by three points by Lauren Regan. Janet Bowers and Lindsay Krueger put in two points each. Hulbert sweep by Woodall Wildcats Woodall defeated Hulbert 30-7 in the girls game and then completed the sweep with a 41-31 win in the boys game Wednesday. Bailey led the Lady Riders in scoring with four points followed by Alexis Morrison with two points and Salena Carey with one point. Wynn and Ortiz were co-leading scorers for HJHS with seven points each. Ortiz had one trey. Connor Boyd scored six points with two three pointers. and Thompson had five points while Corey Kerr added four points. Cook finished the scoring with two points. The Riders and Lady Riders next action will be Monday at Okay for Big Eight Conference contests starting at 4:30.
