Conrad TD called back
After Sallisaw took a 31-21 lead early in the third quarter, Tahlequah appeared as though it responded with a score of its own on its next drive.
The Tigers' Brandon Conrad broke free around the left side of the line and out-ran Sallisaw defenders for a 65-yard touchdown run. However, a holding call at the 50 nullified the scoring play.
When asked what he was told by the officials, Gilbert said, "they called holding on one of our offensive guys, of course. That's just the breaks. Sometimes you don't get some ... and you'd like for them to fall your way."
Tahlequah's drive ended inside Sallisaw territory when Colton Wright fumbled around midfield.
Tahlequah will begin Distirct 5A-4 play at Grove, while Sallisaw will take on Poteau in district play in 4A.
