NSU women up to No. 6 in poll

The Northeastern State women’s basketball team has matched its highest ranking in school history, landing at the No. 6 mark in the USA Today/ESPN Division II top 25 coaches’ poll on Tuesday.

California-San Diego (18-0) remained at No. 1 with 794 points and 26 first-place votes. Clayton State (Ga.) (18-1) — who picked up six first-place votes — and Edinboro (Pa.) (16-0) held their spots at Nos. 2 and 3, respectively.

Metropolitan State College of Denver (16-1) moved up from fifth to No. 4 while Fort Lewis (Colo.) (15-2) dropped from fourth to eighth.
