Hulbert teams sweep Mustangs

OKAY — The Hulbert boys withstood a late charge by Okay to pick up a 62-60 victory on Tuesday night on the road.

Mason Fielden led Hulbert with 29 points while Craig Potts (16) and Parker Taylor (10) also scored in double figures.

For Okay, five players scored in double figures, led by Zac Cagle and Nigel King who both scored 13 points.

In the girls game, a 27-1 first quarter took all doubt out of the equation as Hulbert rolled to a 57-22 rout.

Tiffany Thompson led Hulbert with 13 points, while Megan Cox chipped in with 12. In total, eight Hulbert players scored at least two points.

Next up for Hulbert is district-tournament action in Liberty on Saturday. Both Hulbert teams will face the winner of Liberty-Mounds in the district finals. The girls will start at 6:30 p.m. with the boys at 8.
