PORUM — The Hulbert girls handed Oaks its first loss of the season in a 39-27 decision in the championship game of the Greenleaf Invitational in Porum on Saturday night.
The Lady Riders won their first tournament crown in three years and improved to 5-0 this season. Oaks falls to 6-1.
Hulbert will return to regular-season action on Tuesday at home against Okay.
Sequoyah girls fall
INOLA — The Sequoyah girls, led by 10 points apiece from Baylee Ratliff and Kelsey Leach, suffered a 49-34 loss to Oologah in the third-place game of the Inola tournament on Saturday.
The Lady Indians fall to 3-2 and will host Victory Christian on Friday.
The Sequoyah boys also lost Saturday night, falling to 3A No. 3 Verdigris, 54-48, in the finals of the Jerry O'Quin Tournament. B.J. Leach led Sequoyah with 15 points, while Cade Upshaw had 15 for Verdigris.
Keys teams swept
PARK HILL — Both Keys teams were blown out by Muldrow on Saturday night, with the Keys girls losing 51-31 and the boys falling 53-35.
Sydni Rainbolt led Keys with 12 points, but all those came in the first half.
Both Keys teams lost in the championship games of the Cougar Invitational.
No other information was reported from the Keys boys game.
Lamons, Sellers get 3rd
BRISTOW — Tahlequah’s Hestin Lamons (145 pounds) and Mitch Sellers (132) both finished in third place at the Bristow wrestling tournament on Saturday.
The Tigers also finished in the top 10 of the team standings.
Tahlequah returns home on Tuesday to Claremore.
