Tahlequah's girls basketball team was one and done in the playoffs, coming up short of a repeat trip to the Class 5A state tournament. But the Lady Tigers' 8-16 season didn't keep them from landing three players on the All-Metro Lakes Conference team.

Whitney Wright, Marisa Girdner and Lindsay Wade all picked up conference honors, which were decided upon by league coaches.

"They both bring to the table a leadership quality that doesn't come around often," Tahlequah coach Johnny Dyson said of Girdner and Wright, two of Tahlequah's seniors during the 2013-2014 season. "There will be some big shoes to fill. Both of these ladies are tremendous athletes."

Collinsville, which made the state tournament and finished the season at 21-7, landed the most conference honors. Mallory Vaughn was named the league's Most Valuable Player, and Mark Campbell tied for top honors as the conference's top coach with Skiatook's Brad Cantrell.

Collinsville also had four players on the All-Metro Lakes Conference team: Sawyer Salisbury, Taylor O'Dell, Dakota Jefferson and Maddie Vaughn.

Kendall Schulte (Skiatook), Charity Burdette (Skiatook), Lauren Chancellor (Claremore), Anna McGuire (Claremore), Courtney Haas (Coweta), Miranda Elliott (Coweta), Leah Colon (Bishop Kelley), Madeline McKenzie (Bishop Kelley) and Hunter Gilstrap (Pryor) rounded out the rest of the league's All-Conference team.

As for Wade, who was a sophomore in the recently-concluded season, Dyson said, "Lindsay Wade had a good season and made All-Conference as a sophomore. That doesn't happen often. We'll rely heavily on her for the next two years."

Tahlequah also had two players pick up honorable mention honors in the league: Reagan Clark and Kacady Glory.
