Missouri State outlasts Tulsa in shootout

SPRINGFIELD, Mo. — Dorrian Williams scored a team-high 20 points to help Missouri State prevail over Tulsa 96-93 Saturday night.

The Bears (2-0) erased an early 10-point deficit in the second half to take an 85-81 lead on a Williams jumper.

Following a Shaquille Harrison layup for Tulsa (0-2), Nathan Scheer sank a 3-pointer, but Harrison answered with two free throws. Marcus Marshall then hit a 3-pointer to increase the lead to six.

A Harrison jumper and two free throws by Rashad Ray brought the Golden Hurricane back to within two. After a Keith Pickens free throw, Harrison had a chance at a three-point play, but missed the free throw, keeping the score 91-92 with 27 seconds left.

Williams netted two free throws, and Rashad Smith followed with a tip-in.

Jarmar Gulley made the score 95-93 with a free throw and Harrison missed a potential game-tying shot with three seconds left.
