Sequoyah goes 2-3 in BA

Sequoyah opened the Broken Arrow tournament by going 1-1 on Friday. The Lady Indians beat Putnam City North 12-1 before losing 5-3 to Broken Arrow.

On Saturday, Sequoyah went 1-2, losing to Muskogee (5-4) and Deer Creek (2-1). The lone victory was a 9-0 result against Poteau.

The Lady Indians (3-3) will play at Hartshorne on Monday.

Lady Indians win volleyball tourney

The Sequoyah volleyball team beat Oologah 2-0 (26-24, 25-22) on Saturday to claim the Sequoyah tournament title at The Place Where They Play. The tournament clincher capped off a two-day run of five victories for Sequoyah in which the Lady Indians only lost one set.

Sequoyah made it to the finals by beating Okay 2-0. On Friday, the Lady Indians beat Hulbert, Claremore-Sequoyah and Salina, who was the only team to win a set against Sequoyah.

Picking up the tournament's Most Valuable Player was Sequoyah's Audrey Ballou. The Lady Indians' Baylee Herrin and Britanie Wacoche also made the all-tournament team.

Sequoyah's next match will be Tuesday at Okay.
