Bowie misses Seahawks practice

Former Northeastern State offensive lineman Michael Bowie missed practice on Tuesday due to a strained hamstring.

In Renton, Wash., at Seattle Seahawks training camp, Bowie and cornerback Ron Parker both sat out with hamstring injuries. Bowie is currently competing to claim a spot on the final 53-man roster.

With most of its linemen returning from last season’s team, Seattle has been looking at Bowie at right tackle. Early indications are that Bowie has been solid and has transitioned flawlessly to the professional level.

Bowie was drafted by Seattle in the seventh round of the NFL draft in April. Bowie was the 242nd pick overall for only franchise in the Pacific Northwest.

Seattle will begin preseason play on Aug. 8 at San Diego.
