OSU’s Bias, OU’s Ellenberg named AP All Americans

— Oklahoma State’s Tiffany Bias and Oklahoma’s Aaryn Ellenberg have each been named an honorable mention All-American by The Associated Press.

The women’s All-America basketball teams were announced Tuesday.

Both Bias and Ellenberg were previously named to the All-Big 12 team.

The first team included Stanford’s Chiney Ogwumike, Baylor’s Odyssey Sims, Connecticut’s Breanna Stewart, Notre Dame’s Kayla McBride and Maryland’s Alyssa Thomas.

OKC's Durant named Player of the Month

Oklahoma City’s Kevin Durant has been named the NBA Western Conference Player of the Month for March.

The selection was announced Monday after Durant averaged 34.5 points per game in addition to 6.7 rebounds and 5.9 assists per game to help the Thunder to a 10-4 record during the month.

Durant became the first player to average at least 33 points per game in three consecutive months since Michael Jordan during the 1989-90 season.

The Charlotte Bobcats’ Al Jefferson was named Eastern Conference Player of the Month.

UCA’s Rowell named regional wrestler of the year

University of Central Oklahoma national champion wrestler Casy Rowell has been named Central Region Wrestler of the Year.

The selection was made in a vote of the region’s 17 head coaches and announced Tuesday.

Rowell is now one of four regional winners on the ballot for NCAA Division II National Wrestler of the Year.

The 133-pound Rowell won the national title March 15 in Cleveland with a 3-2 overtime victory over defending champion Daniel DeShazier of Nebraska-Kearney. Rowell was named the tournament’s Outstanding Wrestler.

OU's Clark chosen to play in College All-Star Game

NORMAN — University of Oklahoma senior forward Cameron Clark has been chosen to play in the 2014 Reese's Division I College All-Star Game, which will be played as part of Final Four Friday.

The National Association of Basketball Coaches announced Tuesday that Clark is one of 21 college seniors selected for the game.

The game will be played starting at 4:30 p.m. Friday at AT&T Stadium in Arlington, Texas, and will broadcast on a tape-delayed basis Saturday at 11 a.m. by CBS.

Clark is one of 11 members of the West All-Stars and will be coached by Stanford's Johnny Dawkins. Maryland's Mark Turgeon will coach the East All-Stars.
