Tahlequah lands volleyball regional

Tahlequah's rise in the final Class 5A poll of the year paid off.

The Lady Tigers' ascension to No. 8 in Class 5A resulted in the Lady Tigers landing a regional volleyball tournament next week.

The Oklahoma Secondary School Activities Association announced regional pairings for Class 5A schools on Wednesday.

Tahlequah will host a regional at the TMAC with Coweta, Skiatook and McAlester also participating. The winner of the single-elimination tournament will advance to the stat tournament in the Tulsa area on Oct. 18.

Other regional hosts in 5A include: Heritage Hall, Christian Heritage, Deer Creek, Oklahoma Bible Academy, Lincoln Christian, Cascia Hall and Victory Christian.

A date and start times have yet to be announced for Tahlequah's regional tournament.
