NSU's Crawford, White named All-Americans

Northeastern State’s Eric Crawford and Bo White were both honored as 2012 NSCAA/Continental Tire NCAA Division II Third Team All-Americans, the organization announced on Tuesday.

White, a senior midfielder from Durant, collected his second All-America accolade to go along with his 2012 Daktronics First Team honors. He was also named the 2012 Daktronics Central Region Player of the Year and the 2012 MIAA Player of the Year.

Crawford, a sophomore defender from Scarborough, Ontario, Canada, earned his first All-America honor, and he was also named a 2012 Daktronics All-Central Region First Team performer and a member of the 2012 All-MIAA First Team.

White and Crawford are the first two NSCAA All-Americans in school history.

White (14 goals, 5 assists, 33 points) tied for the conference lead in points and finished second in goals.

Crawford made 17 starts and played in 18 matches. He led a backline that broke the school record for least amount of goals allowed in a season (20). NSU conceded just 12 goals and recorded eight shutouts in Crawford’s 17 starts. He also scored a goal against Ouachita Baptist.

Crawford and White were the only two players from both the Central Region and the MIAA to earn All-American status. NSU now has three All-Americans this year, as sophomore forward Juan Peralta was named 2012 Daktronics All-America Honorable Mention.

Northeastern State finished the season in the NCAA quarterfinals, a first for the program. The No. 11-ranked RiverHawks recorded a 13-5-3 record and a 7-1-2 mark in the MIAA. The 13 wins were third-most in school history.
