NSU-Pitt State roster notes

Northeastern State won't be the only club well represented with Oklahoma natives when the RiverHawks open their season at Pittsburg State on Saturday. The Gorillas have 10 players listed on their two-deep depth chart that starred at Oklahoma high schools.

Three of Pitt State's starters are from Oklahoma: Joe Uzzel (Catoosa), Tyler Smith (Sand Springs) and Dino Teague (East Central).

Other players from the Sooner State are:

Bo Farrow (backup center) - Broken Arrow

Issac Maselera (backup free safety) - Glenpool

Dre Holman (backup running back) - PC North

Darrack Harger (backup QB) - Sand Springs

Aries Herrion (backup cornerback) - Booker T. Washington

Quad Ware (backup safety) - Broken Arrow

Heath Wilson (backup defensive end) - Wagoner

The RiverHawks and Pittsburg State will kick off at 7 p.m. on Saturday.

Other NSU roster notes:

- Joel Rockmore and Terrance are the two running backs listed on NSU's depth chart, as expected. But beyond that, it's anyone's guess as to who would be next in line. Chavez Wyatt is questionable and Ashdon Perry is out after not practicing this week.

- Buck Spurger will start at right tackle for the RiverHawks. Dustin Reid was slated to be NSU's starter at that position, but he was unable to gain medical clearance and will have to sit out for the entire season.

- With Spurger moving to right tackle, Trevon Lawson will start at right guard.

- Every reserve on NSU's offensive line is a freshman. Across the line (from left) is Tyler Easter, Devin Crisp, Hudson Baab, Aaron Patterson and Jacob Meador.

- Carson Smallwood, a freshman from Pryor, is the backup linebacker at the rover position.
