Beatrice ‘Granny’ Lyons

Beatrice ‘Granny’ Lyons, age 80, of Duncan, Okla., died Wednesday, Aug. 20, 2008, in Duncan. Services will be at Don Grantham Funeral Home Chapel, Duncan, at 11 a.m. Saturday, with the Rev. Dean Hall officiating. Interment will be at Park Hill Cemetery, in Tahlequah, Monday, at 11:00 a.m.

She was born on July 2, 1928 in Henryetta, Okla. to Miller and Dolly (Carroll) Ballard. She moved to Duncan in 1965. She was a homemaker and antique dealer. Beatrice was a member of the Road to Eternity Church. She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother.

Survivors include Jack Williams, of the home; four children, Leon (Chief) Jones, of Glenrose, Texas, Bill Jones and wife, Shelia, Anna Doucet and husband, Wayne, and Rocky Marshall and wife, Vickey, all of Duncan; three sisters Christine Tucker of Hutchinson, Kan., Alice Bettes and husband, Jerry, of Adel, Iowa, and Barbara Hutchison, of Duncan; fourteen grandchildren Leon Jones, of Okla., Tommy Jones, Shonda Jones, Trevor Jones and Kevin Jones, all of La., Carrie Lytle and husband, J.D., of Glenrose, Jeff McGuire, of Duncan, Tiffany Jones, of Muskogee, Winky Doucet and wife, Tracy, of Duncan, Benji Doucet and wife, Krystal, and Missy Hendricks and husband, Kary, all of Comanche, Jason Marshall, Jennifer Blades and husband, Eric Todd, and Whitney Dennis, all of Duncan, and twenty-seven great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents; one brother, John, and four sisters Bernice, Deloris, Belle and Delphane and her husband, Earl P. Lyons.

Pallbearers will be her grandsons. Honorary bearers are Bill Morton and Greg Morton.
