Tahlequah Community Playhouse Inc. will host auditions for the fall musical, "Mama Mia," at 7 p.m. on Monday, June 24, and Tuesday, June 25, in St. Basil's Episcopal Church, 814 N. Vinita Ave.
The book is by Catherine Johnson. Music and lyrics are by Bjorn Ulvaeus and Benny Anderson. This production will be directed by Bryn Smith.
Those auditioning should bring their own music, or someone will be available to accompany performers. Bring sheet music, but some music will be available. A music stand will be provided. A piece from the musical may be chosen, but all songs should be in the performers range and something they are comfortable with. Choose something familiar.
Scripts will be available for cold readings.
Characters include: Sophie, Ali, Lisa, age 20; Sky, Pepper, age 20s; Tanya, Donna, Rosie, age 40; and Eddie, Bill, Harry, Sam, Father Alexandrios, over 40. An ensemble of gals and guys of all ages, whom will be on stage most of the time as islanders, Donna's staff, and wedding guests is needed.
Also needed are backstage crew, hair, makeup, costumes, props, light and sound technicians and set builders.
Show dates are Sept. 20-22, and Sept. 27-29. All performances are held at the Tahlequah Armory Municipal Center, 100 N. Water Ave.
