WEST SILOAM SPRINGS – Billy Bob Thornton and The Boxmasters take over the Seven Bar stage on July 25 for a free concert, highlighting their new album release, “Speck.”
The show begins at 8 p.m. inside Cherokee Casino & Hotel West Siloam Springs. All guests must be at least 21 years of age to attend.
Billy Bob Thornton never intended to become a movie star, as his true love has been music from a young age. As a teen, Thornton was in several bands, many of which found national recognition. After working with J.D. Andrew on his 2007 solo album, “Beautiful Door,” the pair knew they had something special. The pair’s self-titled debut album was released in June 2008 by Vanguard records, receiving praise by the likes of The Washington Post.
The duo quickly added musicians Bradley Davis, Teddy Andreadis and Mike Bruce, and took to the road. They soon opened and toured with Willie Nelson during a 12-city tour across the United States.
In late 2017 and 2018, The Boxmasters had the honor to team up with legendary engineer and producer Geoff Emerick, known for taking over the engineer’s chair on The Beatle’s albums “Revolver,” “Sergeant Pepper’s Lonely Hearts Club Band” and more. The Beatles-infused album “Speck” will be released this summer.
Emerick added a familiar ‘60s-influenced sonic touch to the sound of The Boxmasters, who have been unapologetic Beatles and British Invasion fans. His work on albums by Badfinger, The Zombies, America and Paul McCartney, among many others, have always been huge influences on The Boxmasters.
The band has released a total of seven studio albums. The Boxmasters’ 2019 Speck Tour kicks off on July 2.
