Celebrating its 25th year by showcasing the art of area students is the Cherokee County Student Art Show.
"Be Artrageous!" is this year's theme, and the show runs March 26-29 in the Tahlequah Public Schools Performing Arts Center. Art supplies, ribbons and medals are given to the first-, second-, and third-place winners in seven different grade categories, as well as two honorable mentions given in each category. A Best of Show is also awarded, with the winner receiving a cash prize, art supplies, a ribbon and medal.
Open to all school age children in Cherokee County, the show is under the direction of TPS' Gifted and Talented Program, with funding for prizes coming from Lake Region Electric Cooperative's Round Up Program. The awards ceremony is Tuesday, March 26, at 6 p.m. in the PAC. Everyone is invited to attend.
The show is open for public viewing 8:30 a.m.-3 p.m. on Wednesday and Thursday, March 27-28.
