Cherokee County sheriff’s deputies arrested a local man Thursday after he allegedly damaged a neighbor’s camera.

Ryan Joe Adair, 26, was arrested at his home by Chief Investigator Jason Chennault for malicious injury to property. He was later released on a $500 bond.

Reports state Jason Copeland installed cameras around his home after a series of suspected arson fires occurred in the area of the TeeHee Addition. Copeland told Adair about the cameras. Adair allegedly walked up to one of the cameras after being shown the devices and knocked it down with a stick.

The camera has not been found. Adair was not arrested for taking the camera.

No arrests have been made in connection with the fires.

In an unrelated matter, Jeremy Poafpybitty, 20, was arrested Thursday morning for public drunk and minor in possession of 3.2 beer after sheriff’s deputies and Cherokee Nation marshals answered a noise complaint at Garden Walk Apartments.
