The Tahlequah Police Department is investigating an apparent accident that resulted in a local infant being flown by helicopter to a Tulsa hospital.

According to police reports, the baby’s father was holding the baby in blanket, when the baby slipped out of the blanket and landed on the floor, resulting in injury to the infant’s head. The baby was flown by EagleMed from W.W. Hastings Indian Medical Center to St. Francis Hospital in Tulsa for treatment.

Police are also searching for a missing juvenile, Jacqueline Sequichie, who was last seen wearing a gray Nike T-shirt with the words “Do it!” on it, along with blue jeans and light blue Airwalk garden shoes. Sequichie is 14 years old; 5-foot-10, and weighs 225 pounds. She has auburn hair and green eyes.

Carol Huff reported checks written to by the National Indian Council on Aging being cashed by someone named Mary Walker.
