Cherokee County sheriff’s deputies arrested an area man Tuesday for public drunkenness after he allegedly broke into a vacant house. Joshua Cochran, 22, was booked on the public intoxication charge. Reports state he entered the house to “party.”

In an unrelated matter, deputies are investigating an alleged sexual assault of a 13-year-old girl that occurred April 5. The girl said the suspect, 16, didn’t force himself on her. However, the girl’s age makes the act a rape in Oklahoma because a female must be 16 to legally consent to sexual intercourse.

Alpha Ford told deputies intruders entered the Ford house, but nothing was taken.
