The Grand River Dam Authority Police Department is reporting that the body found in the Illinois River on June 29 was that of Chelsea Ophelia Escobedo, 30, of Summers, Arkansas.
According a GRDA Police release, Escobedo’s body was discovered by a group of floaters, in an area of the river just west of the Highway 59 bridge, near Watts.
The body was taken to the Oklahoma State Medical Examiner’s Office in Tulsa. The results of a toxicology report are still pending and the cause of death has yet to be determined.
GRDA and the Oklahoma State Bureau of Investigation are continuing the investigation. No other details are available at this time.
