OKLAHOMA CITY -- Cherokee County's jobless picture got a little better in September compared with the previous month, a report from the Oklahoma Employment Securities Commission indicates.

The report states the county's unemployment rate was 4.5 percent in September, compared to 4.7 percent in August and 5.5 percent in July. The county's rate was 4.2 percent a year ago.

Adair County's rate was 4.8 percent for the second month in a row in September. The rate in that county was 5.7 percent in July and 4.2 percent a year ago.

Delaware County's jobless rate was 4.9 percent in September, compared with 5 percent in August and 5.7 percent in July. Delaware County also had a 4.2 percent unemployment rate in September a year ago.
