A Tahlequah man was released on bond Monday after being arrested on felony assault charges.
Leslie Ritchie, 46, was booked into the Cherokee County Detention Center on charges of assault with a deadly weapon and aggravated domestic assault and battery.
Tahlequah Police Detective Reed Felts said Ritchie was later released on bond. He will be formally arraigned after charges are filed.
Felts said Ritchie was involved in a verbal dispute with his wife, Linsi Ritchie, on the telephone. He said Leslie went to Walgreen’s to confront Linsi and approached her vehicle in the parking lot.
Linsi, 32, was in her car with Bobby Hastings, 35. Felts said Leslie cut Hastings on the right thumb with a knife and also bit Hastings on his right pectoral muscle.
Leslie left the scene and was later arrested at Cedar and Downing.
Tahlequah police and Cherokee County sheriff’s deputies were looking for Leslie.
Felts said Hastings was treated at Tahlequah City Hospital for the knife wound and the bite and then released.
