Local authorities are looking for a lone gunman in connection with the armed robbery of a Tahlequah smoke shop.

The suspect was armed with what appeared to be an AK-47. Reports state he backed his vehicle up to the front door of Willy and Billy’s smoke shop, 412 W. Allen Road, and walked in the front door of the shop, pointed a gun at the clerk and demanded $1,000.

No shots were fired and no injuries were reported as a result of the hold-up.

Witnesses said the incident occurred in about 15 seconds Monday.

The smoke shop is located just east of the intersection of Vinita Avenue and Allen Road.

Cherokee Nation marshals are investigating the robbery.

Officers are looking for a white man standing 6 feet tall and weighing 180-190 pounds. He was wearing blue jeans and a dark brown jacket and a two-tone ski-mask. The mask was yellow and either blue or green.

Kay Cordray, TPD dispatcher, said the suspect as driving a dark green vehicle that looks like a Nissan Altima and the car has no license plate.
