PORUM – The Hulbert Lady Riders advanced to the championship game of the Porum Tournament with a 64-61 win over the Porum Lady Panthers. Hulbert had three players in double figures as Reba Fore led with 20 points. Fore came alive in the second quarter, scoring six points, then added 10 more in the third but the Lady Riders had to hold on for a three-point victory.

Hulbert jumped to a 17-6 lead in the first quarter, as Kim Masters led with eight points which included two 3-pointers. Sydney Dunning also had a 3-pointer and Jessica Henson had four points in the quarter. Fore scored two points in the quarter. Porum outscored the Lady Riders 19-13 in the second quarter, but the Lady Riders maintained a 30-25 lead at the half.

Dunning added four more points in the second quarter while Masters had two in the quarter and Henson added one point for quarter. The Lady Riders outscored the Lady Panthers 18-14 in the third period as Masters and Charlie Walker each made 3-pointers in the quarter, while Dunning added two more to her total.

Dunning took over for the Lady Riders in the fourth quarter by hitting on six of seven free throws and a field goal for eight points. Dunning hit four straight at the charity stripe as the Lady Riders held off the Lady Panthers. Masters added five points in the quarter, including a 3-pointer while Fore added two points. Henson made the other point for the Lady Riders. Porum was led in scoring by Racie Jackson with a game-high 25 points.

With the win, the Hulbert Lady Riders are 10-4 for the season and will play for the championship Saturday at 7:15 p.m. against the Keota Lady Lions, a 52-46 winner over the Keys Lady Cougars.
