Cherokee County and Tahlequah investigators are looking for a pickup truck matching this description in connection with a series of area thefts.

They are asking for the public’s help in locating a red Ford F-350 Supercrew dually pickup like the one in this photo.

The truck has a louvered tailgate and a large welder in the bed against the cab and a chrome- or diamond-plated tool box between the welder and the tailgate.

Undersheriff Jason Chennault said there may be acetylene bottles in the truck. The truck is being driven by a white man standing 5 feet 7 to 5 feet 9 inches tall and may have a bogus Oklahoma tag of YLJ-291.

Chennault said the suspect could be a traveling welder staying at area motels or campgrounds.

Local law enforcement is looking for the vehicle and wants to identify the driver. Anyone with information concerning the truck or its location should contact Chennault at 456-2583 or TPD Detective Jeff Haney at 456-8801.
