Sales tax figures for May are up in Tahlequah from a year ago, but down in Hulbert, a report prepared by the Oklahoma Tax Commission states.
The report shows Tahlequah with a total of $553,352.45, compared to $511,023.30 a year ago. Hulbert’s total last month was $6,743.66, down from $7,180.18 a year ago.
In Adair County, Stilwell’s total was 173,311.04, an increase from $168,27881 a year ago. Westville’s total last month was $42,043.70, compared to the slightly higher figure of $43,843.85 in May 2009. The total in Watts last month was $3,202.60, a decrease from $3,711.05 a year ago.
Delaware County totals show Jay with a $72,160.10 total last month, compared to $73,058.36 a year ago. Kansas had a $9,612.04 mark last month, compared to $12,656.76 a year ago. Oaks’ total was $708.78 last month, compared to $833.70 a year ago.
In county returns, Cherokee County received $549,496.34, more than the $519,525.38 collected a year ago. Adair County’s total was $56,422.41 last month, compared to a higher figure of $58,357.56 a year ago. Delaware County received $211,592.45 last month, compared to $234,263.95 a year ago.
The figures represent sales from March 16-31 and estimated sales from April 1-15, the report states.
