Tahlequah’s Industrial Authority Wednesday approved a 2006-’07 fiscal year audit.
Alan Chapman, CPA, performed the audit presented by Lori Kimble. Kimble said the authority’s audit is clean, showing it had $3.07 million invested in capital assets at the end of 2007 and didn’t purchase new assets in 2007.
Assistant City Administrator Kevin Smith shared a map with TIA members, showing available land at the Industrial Park. He said the biggest spaces range from 12 to 25 acres.
Trustee Pam Williams said she will continue to work on the authority’s Web site. She recently spoke with economic and community development contacts, who told her economic development is turning more to community development.
Williams said some communities have employed a person to work in that capacity. She said such a move would be moot in Tahlequah because of the money needed for the position.
TIA Chairman Jeff Reasor said Roy Cartwright is leaving the authority. Smith said Larry Dotson has also left the board, and the city council is expected to vote on one appointment at its April 7 meeting.
What’s next
The next regular meeting of the Tahlequah Industrial Authority will be Wednesday, April 16 at 6 p.m. in the council chambers at City Hall.
