WATTS – A Watts teenager died Wednesday after the car he was a passenger in ran off the road and hit a tree.

The Oklahoma Highway Patrol has identified the victim as Jordan Porley, 14. He was pronounced dead at the scene and transferred to Wassom Funeral Home in Siloam Springs, Ark. Porley was a passenger in a 1988 Chevrolet Camaro driven by another 14-year-old boy.

The driver’s name has not been released.

He was transported to Washington Regional Medical Center in Fayetteville, Ark. by Eagle Med with head and trunk internal injuries. He was driving west on River Road 5-1/2 miles west of Watts at an unsafe speed when he lost control of the vehicle and ran off the left side of the road and hit a tree.

The cause of the crash is still under investigation. The driver’s condition was apparently normal and neither boy was wearing a seat belt.

The crash was reported at 6:41 p.m. Wednesday and investigated by OHP Trooper Tommy Mullins.
