After spotting an alleged stolen vehicle on March 5, Cherokee County Sheriff's Office deputies jailed two suspects at the Cherokee Casino Tahlequah.
April Whyne Hall, 27, Tahlequah, and Clinton Sanders, 34, Kansas, were arrested after Deputy Tanner Hendley spotted the vehicle that matched the description of a stolen vehicle whose driver allegedly stole gasoline earlier that day. With the assistance of the Cherokee Nation Marshal Service and Cherokee Nation security, authorities discovered the two suspects who had been in the stolen vehicle were inside the casino. The suspects were detained, and inside the vehicle, authorities found five syringes and a spoon with burnt residue on it. They were transported to the Cherokee County Detention Center, where they were booked for possession of stolen vehicle and possession of controlled dangerous substance.
During a traffic stop March 6, Deputy Andrew Dreadfulwater arrested Aaron Mathew Squire, 42, Colcord, for possession of controlled dangerous substance and possession of paraphernalia.
Gordon Dwight Jones Jr., 49, Oaks, was jailed March 4 by Deputy Bob Lewandowski for public intoxication. He was transported to the CCDC and booked.
Deputies took a fraud report March 3 from Minnie Carr, who said someone opened a PayPal account using her information.
Deputy Nick Chute arrested Donaven Swepston, 24, on March 2 and transported him to the detention center, where he was booked for possession of marijuana and public intoxication.
A theft report was taken Feb. 26 from Seth Alan Greer, who said two people have been trespassing on his property and a trail camera was stolen.
Samantha Whitener reported on Feb. 19 that after her grandfather gave her a large sum of money, a family member demanded she give her the money or she would file elder abuse charges against her.
