Shaun was born May 29, 1982, the son of Leman Alan and Lenora Alice (Wynn) Moore in Fayetteville, Ark. He joined the Oklahoma National Guard, where he assisted in Search and Rescue for the victims of Hurricane Katrina. When his unit was mobilized, he served as a specialist in the 1st Battalion, 180th Infantry in Afghanistan in June 2006 until he safely returned in June 2007. After returning home, he remained a member of the National Guard based out of Poteau, Okla., because he was so proud to be a soldier. On Aug. 8, 2008, he married the love of his life, Carrie Alexandria Wickings, in Tahlequah. Shaun was employed with Grace Medical Equipment, helping to provide needed medical supplies to area families. When he wasn’t working, Shaun enjoyed playing the guitar. Shaun enjoyed spending time with his wife, family and friends, whether it was playing guitar, playing video games, or just helping around the house. He had a wonderful sense of humor and was a fantastic jokester. He was also honest, kind hearted, loving and very supportive of family and friends. But those who knew him will never forget his smile. He had the kind of infectious smile that went from ear to ear, and he gave it to family, friends and strangers alike. Shaun passed from this life on Wednesday, Dec.17, 2008, and will be greatly missed by all those who knew him and cherished his friendship.

Shaun is preceded in death by his grandfathers, John Wynn and Alfred Priestly Moore, two uncles, Max Moore and Billy Bowen, and two aunts Jacy Bowen and Norma.

Those left behind to cherish Shaun’s memory include his loving wife, Carrie; his parents, Leman and Lenora Moore, of Westville, Okla.; his sister Shauna Moore, of Westville; his mother-in-law Karen Scott Hernandez, of Tahlequah, who he called “Mom;” two grandmothers, Lenora Ramier and Patricia Moore; and many cousins, friends and brothers-in-arms in the Army National Guard.
